What is a Modern Apprenticeship?
A Modern Apprenticeship is vocational training relevant to the learner’s current employment. The learner not only gains an industry recognised qualification (usually an SVQ*) but also soft skills such as communication and teamwork resulting in a well-rounded and efficient employee. Modern Apprenticeships take place in the learners place of employment with minimal downtime and can be completed within a time period that's suitable to both the learner and the employer.

How does it Work?
Each year Skills Development Scotland offers young people the chance to gain invaluable industry recognised accreditations. They do this by covering the cost of the course and choosing professional training providers to deliver the program. This training program is called a Modern Apprenticeship and it’s absolutely free.

Who is eligible?
This all depends on how many funding spaces Keep I.T. Real is able to source from the funding body – Skills Development Scotland. The most common type of funding is for those in employment between the ages of 16-19, however there are sometimes other funding options available to anyone above that age bracket.

If you or one of your employees is eligible for one of our Modern Apprenticeships then call us to arrange a consultation. The Modern Apprenticeships we offer are valued between three and £5000, however, funding spaces are limited and disappear fast once we get them so get in touch before our funding is completely depleted.

* SVQ's:

Scottish Vocational Qualifications are based on standards of competence (National Occupational Standards) that describe a candidate's ability to work in real conditions - having an SVQ is a kind of guarantee that a candidate is competent to the standards that the SVQ is based on.
